1. Why would I need a vault or a concrete outer container for a protective casket?

  • The state of Oklahoma does not mandate the use of an outer burial containers of any kind, they allow each cemetery to regulate this issue. Some cemeteries require at a minimum  a concrete box. Currently, none of the cemeteries in Enid require the use of an outer burial container i.e. vault or concrete box. Contact your local cemetery for their requirements.
  • A vault or concrete outer container protects the integrity of the gravesite by reducing the weight of earth resting on the casket and protects the casket from intrusion during future excavations.
