The Mass of Christian burial for Alejandrina "Dina" K. Grothe will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Reverend Aaron Foshee officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Her Rosary service will be 6:00 P.M. Sunday, November 22, 2015 in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.

Dina lost her battle with cancer at the age of 86, on November 16, 2015 surrounded by her family. Dina was born in the Philippines on November 25, 1928 to Kakuchi and Paula (Aliepe) Kondo.

She was very proud of her Japanese heritage and had a wonderful life. Dina had a strong faith in God and placed her family's needs above her own. She was blessed to have a career that she truly loved and started that career as a young lady working in her sister's beauty salon, later starting one of her own. While attending the international beauty show in Chicago, she met Henry Grothe who was so smitten by her that he followed her back to the Philippines and convinced her to marry him. They made their home in Manila and had four children, Charles, Angie, Henry Jr. and James. In 1968 the family moved to Enid and opened Joseph's Hair Stylists where she worked until six weeks before her death. Her family takes comfort knowing she is at home with God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother.

She is survived by her Husband, Henry Sr., daughter, Angie Maurer and husband Greg; sons, James and wife Elizabeth; Henry Jr. and wife Angie; Dr. Charles Grothe and wife Mary; grandchildren, Dr. Katie Maurer, Charles, Elizabeth, Billy, Casey, Ashley, Amanda, Carter and Samantha Grothe; sister, Francisca Buensalido, brother, Ricardo Kondo and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Faith Hospice or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Henninger~Hinson acting as custodian of the fund.
