The graveside service for Ava Bim (Miller) Jones will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Enid Cemetery Chapel. Gordon Jantz will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Longtime Enid resident, Ava Bim (Miller) Jones was born in Kim, Colorado on August 13, 1927 and went to heaven on October 21, 2014. She was the middle child of seven children born to William Wesley Miller (1878 -1961) and Iva Blanche Miller (1892 - 1986). Her siblings are: Ralph K. Miller (1919 -1999); James Troy Miller (1920 - 2000); Iva Trix Sutton (1922 - 2001); William Gale Miller (1930 - 2013); Burl Gene Miller; and Twyla Bee Montano.

The Miller family moved to Shattuck where they lived until moving to Enid Bim's senior year. She graduated from EHS in1945. She attended one semester at Oklahoma State University but came back home and began working as a waitress at Polly & Peggy's Cafe where she would proudly tell you that "she married the boss."

She and Walter Pearson ran the Cafe for over twenty years and had four children: Peggy Pearson (deceased); Patty Pearson (Oklahoma City); Pam Pearson (Norman) and infant son, Walter G. Pearson, Jr. (deceased). They called her "Grandma Bim." She has six grandchildren: Danielle Winn and Heather Winn (McKinney, TX); Skylar Shields and Kasey Boggs (Oklahoma City); and Cody Stanley and Ross Watson (Norman). Her children have five great grandchildren: Sheldon Darnell, David Summers, Keely Summers and Pearson Prows (McKinney, TX) and Flynn Boggs (Oklahoma City).

Since 1971, Bim had been married to Charles Jones. They traveled with friends in two antique car clubs and enjoyed life! She loved her church, Harvest Time. She was active in Women A-Glow and was on a healing team. She told everyone that she loved Jesus and said that God put her on this earth to mentor to young women with alcoholic husbands. After her health declined, she attended North Garland Church of Christ with Charlie and often spoke of how much she loved the church members there.

The total of children from her blended family with Charlie is eight children, twenty grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. She was a loving and active mother and grandmother.

Memorials may be made to OMRF (Alzheimer's Division) with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodians of the fund.
