The Homegoing Celebration for Billy Joe Kious, 86 year-old Enid resident, will be 11:00am Friday, July 19, 2019 at Victory Bible Church. Burial will follow in Lyon Valley Cemetery, Hennessey. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Billy was born May 5, 1933 in Hennessey, Oklahoma to Joseph and Ivah Gertrude (Fields) Kious and died July 15, 2019 in Enid, surrounded by his loving family.

Billy always had a minister's heart. That was evident when, as a child, he started preaching to his sisters while standing on top of a hay bale. In 1950, he graduated from Hennessey High School. Billy married Dorothy Gail Borden on July 10, 1952 in Girard, Kansas. His first official calling to the pulpit was in 1956 at a Church in Pittsburg, Kansas. He continued his ministry in Enid, from 1968 until 1987 at Victory Bible Church. In 1987, he and Gail moved back to Girard, Kansas where he worked at Calvary Bible Church until his retirement in 2010. Billy continued to fill the pulpit, when asked to preach, until his health declined.

Billy had lots of interests which included fishing, farming, mowing his lawn and reading his Bible. He always enjoyed working in the dirt by planting flowers and vegetables but his utmost love was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters: Leona Long, Peggy Cuthbertson and Patsy Kious (in infancy).

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Gail, of the home; four children, Kathy Young; Jim Kious and wife, Jeannie; Becki Koehler and husband, Tom; Janna Thompson and husband, Robert; nine grandchildren, Chris Young and wife, Philisha; Chad Young and wife, Amber; Shani Dear and husband, Jeff; Joe Kious and wife, Jody; Nathan Kious; Amber Warden and husband, Zane; Kimberly Pyle and husband, Chad; Kenton Schumacher; Tyler Thompson; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Myrna Hershberger; Linda Hodgden and husband, Bill as well as numerous extended family.

Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love or Enid SPCA.
