Funeral services for Charlene L. Dellinger will be 10:30am Friday, August 8, 2014 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Charlene was born October 5, 1923 in Bushong, Kansas to Charles and Maggie (Hodgson) Hill. She passed August 6, 2014 at the Arbor House in Mustang, Oklahoma.

When she was four years old, her mother married her beloved step-father, Bryan West, at Pond Creek, Oklahoma. She grew up in there, graduating from Pond Creek High School. She later attended and graduated from Enid Business College. During the early years of WWII, she went to California and worked in the shipyards as a riveter.

On August 23, 1944, Charlene married Charles Dellinger in Enid. She worked at Midwestern Life Insurance Company in Enid for over 30 years, retiring as Assistant Vice President. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center for 30 years, until moving to the Arbor House Assisted Living Center in Mustang.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; sister, Thelma Steiger; step-son, Terry Dellinger as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Charlene is survived by son, Larry Dellinger and wife, Bonnie of Mustang; daughter, Sherry Murray and husband, Gary of Topeka, Kansas; grandsons, Bryan Dellinger and wife, Trina of Mustang; Clint Dellinger and wife, Sheryl of Norman; Terry Murray of Topeka, Kansas and granddaughter, Amy Hightower and husband, Gary of Mustang; two great-grandsons, Colt and Landon; great great-granddaughter, Alexandrea and brothers, Don West and Lawrence West.

Charlene's family is very appreciative for the love and care given to her during her stay at the Arbor House and by Crossroads Hospice. She was treated as though she were a part of their family.

Memorials in her name can be given through the funeral home to St. Mary's Volunteers.
