The graveside service for Charles E. Gopfert, 90 year-old Covington resident, is 10:00AM Monday, February 21, 2022 in the Covington Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Tommy Donaldson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Charles was born August 24, 1931 on a farm two miles west of Covington to Herman and Lena (Wolf) Gopfert and died Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his home in Covington.

Charles attended Covington Schools and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Army. After the service, he returned to Covington where he worked as a carpenter and plumber in and around the Covington area for many years. He later worked for the County.

Charles was a gifted craftsman and painter. Many of his paintings are on display at the Tri-County Senior Center in Covington.

He is survived by his brother Earl and wife, Janice of Covington as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur, Raymond, and Fred and three sisters, Wilma, Donna, and Vera.
