The graveside service for Charles "Richard" Schrahl, 95 year-old Ringwood resident, will be 2:00PM Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno. Reverend Jody Schmidt will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home

Richard, was born in Kansas City, Missouri as John Haggar Duffy on March 30, 1919 and was adopted as an infant, by Charles Schrahl and Estelle "Emma" Hull Schrahl. He passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Commons Nursing Home in Enid.

He attended local schools and graduated from Ringwood with the class of 1938. On May 13, 1940, Richard married Verda Jean Phillips and they made their home in Ringwood. In 1952, he established Richard's Food Store in Ringwood. He retired in 1981 but continued working part-time until 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Verda of the home; son, Rodney Schrahl and wife, Charlotte of Ringwood; daughter, Sandy Schrahl Branum and husband, Dr. Gary Branum of Wichita, Kansas; grandchilden, Philip Schrahl , Amber; Kristine Almack , Nick; Jesse Slayton, Krystal, and Jackson Slayton. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to either Hospice Circle of Love or Christ First Covenant Bible Fellowsip.
