Obituary

The graveside service for Delton James Morris will be 2:00pm Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor Gary Miller will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Delton will be available for viewing at the funeral home until 1:00pm Monday.

Delton was born September 18, 1939 in Helena, Oklahoma to William Alvis and Lillian Leon (Brown) Morris and died August 7 in Enid.

He graduated from Covington High School in 1957. On November 16, 1962 he married Bernice Evelyn Smith in Enid. Delton proudly served in the US Army as a medic stationed in Alaska. For over 35 years, he worked for PT Coupling as a supervisor before his retirement in 2001.

He was a former member of the local American Legion and Moose Lodge. His greatest passion was fishing with his wife, Bernice, brothers or nephews and nieces. He made several trips to the Gulf and always had lots of fish stories to tell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bernice, two brothers, Dwayne Morris and Alvis Morris and two sisters, Lora Fisher and Jerleen Pettus.

Delton is survived by brother, John Morris and wife, Loretta of Portland, Texas; sister, Janetta Nakvinda of Ringwood; sister, Deanna Kruckenberg and husband, Ronnie of Enid as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
