The funeral service for Dorothy Stahmer is 2:00PM Thursday in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The. Rev. Susuan Southhall officiating. A private family burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Carrier. Dorothy Ann Stahmer was born October 8, 1931 on the family farm near Carrier, Oklahoma and died February 22, 2015. Her parents were Ernest and Lydia Stahmer. She attended the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, Oklahoma graduating in 1953. Dorothy was a linotypist for the Cherokee Messenger and Republican Newspaper. She retired after about 20 years because of failing health and moved back to the farm until 2000. She then moved to Sterlinghouse Assisted Living where she resided the rest of her life. Her favorite pasttimes were taking pictures and videos, watching the combines at wheat harvest, and playing board games.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her special cousins, Jimmy and Helen Geminden, special friends Billy and Marlene Bloss, other cousins and her many friends.Memorials may be made to OMRF(Multiple Sclerosis Division).
