The memorial service for Gale Irene Markes, 76 year-old Douglas resident is 11:00AM Thursday, February 8, 2024 in the Bison Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Father Edward Menesco will officiate.

Gale was born May 23, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Harry and Gladys (Shoburg) Davis and died Friday, January 26, 2024 in her home after a brief illness.

On April 25, 1987 she married Tim Markes in Apple Valley, Minnesota where the couple made their home. They moved to Douglas in 1993. Gale was an animal lover and worked for several years at the cat clinic.

She is survived by her husband Tim of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Steve.
