Obituary

The celebration of life for Gayle Krejci, an 89-year-old Enid resident, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Adolph Gaylen Krejci was born on September 22, 1935, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Adolph and Leitha (Snyder) Krejci.  He was raised on the farm in the Pioneer community and became known to everyone as Gayle. He attended Pioneer school, riding the bus and later riding his horse.
Brought up in a Christian home, he attended Enid Bible Church. When Enid Bible Church merged with Westside Community Church in September 1948, he met the love of his life, Greta Lewis.

On February 27, 1954, Gayle and Greta were married and right away started a family.  Ricky was their firstborn, followed by Michael, and Lisa. They raised a close-knit family through thick and thin, bringing them up in West Side Baptist Church, where the family was a fixture for over fifty
years.  In time, Gayle became the music leader there where he served throughout the church's existence.

Gayle was raised as an only child helping his dad at a young age to bring in the wheat harvests and meet the challenges of working a wheat and cattle farm. As circumstances would require, the trucks, tractors and combines would need immediate servicing while working on the job site. Gayle was able to develop acute skills working with machinery and kept the equipment operating when there was no other option. He could rebuild a complex timepiece at the age of 12.

Gayle excelled scholastically, never earning less than an "A" through his high school years. He also had a passion for Gospel Quartet music. He organized various quartets to give God praise.  In his later years, his love for barbershop music led him to sing in a barbershop quartet, "Best
Kept Secret".  God had truly gifted him musically. He loved working with his hands and hobbies included everything from repairs on his collection
of vehicles to household appliances.  Graduating from SW State College School of Watch Making, prepared him for a long career as a watch and clock repair technician. He was employed by two local jewelers. Over the years he acquired an extensive collection of watch making tools and enjoyed doing side-work as well. Gayle passed from this mortal life on the morning of March 8, 2025. His soul now rests with our Savior in the grand halls of heaven where he is lifting his voice with the throngs worshiping God, and fellowshipping with the faithful departed family members and friends who preceded him into paradise.

Gayle is survived by sons Rick and wife Robin of Edmond, Michael and wife Pamela of Versailles, Kentucky and daughter Lisa and husband Daniel Wolever of Enid, brother Kris Krejci of Enid, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Gayle is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Leitha Krejci and wife Greta Lewis Krejci.
