The funeral for Gerald E. Murray, 75 year-old Enid resident will be 2:00PM Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.
Gerald was born September 12, 1938 in Enid to Lee and Jesse (Campbell) Murray and died Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home in Enid.

At age 16, Gerald started working for the Frisco railroad which later became Burlington Northern. He served in many capacities with the railroad, retiring after 38 years of service He served in the National Guard.

On August 24, 1959 he married Lois Colvard in Aurora, MO. and the couple made their home in Enid. He attended Gospel Light Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, liked playing card games, and listening to music. But he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sons, Mike Murray of Omaha, NE., and Bruce Murray of Enid. His daughters; Kathy Hayes and the late John, of Bartlesville, OK., Jody and Don Reeks of Lahoma, Theresa and Bill Druiett of Nash, Lauri Murray and Lenny Johanning of Enid, Jackie and Tom Ince of Butler,MO. and Geri and the late Scott Thorlton of Waukomis. 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Two sisters; Marlene Chance of Nescatungia, OK, and Judy Gaskill of Nixa, MO. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, one daughter Debbie Samuels, one grandson Michael Wayne Samuels, and three brothers, Jerry, Jim, and Bud.
