A visitation with family of Harold Denton Jr."Jim", 71, year-old Enid resident will be from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Friday, December 12, 2014 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.
Harold was born September 10, 1943 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Harold and Bonnylin (Scherer) Denton Sr. and died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Enid. He attended school in Leavenworth.
On June 6, 1966 he married Brenda Lee Tate in Platte City, Missouri where the couple made their home. They lived briefly in Leavenworth, KS. before they moved to Enid in 1969. Harold worked for Central Machine and tool, retiring as a supervisor after 40 years.
He was a model train enthusiast, an avid Kansas City and Sooner football fan, and enjoyed baseball as well.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, of the home. His children, James, Susan, and Matt, all of Enid. 6 grandchildren, Heather, Candace, Chelsea, Jameson, Tyler, and Chance. Also one grandson, Tegan who is on the way. Two great-grandsons, Brayden and Oden. One sister, Cathy Denton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, John.
