Funeral services for James William "Jim" Musser, 64 year-old Enid resident, will be 2:00pm Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Enid Cemetery Chapel. Reverend Butch Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow with military rites by Ft. Sill Honor Guard under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Visitation with family and friends will be 1:00pm Tuesday in the cemetery chapel, prior to the service.

Jim was born November 3, 1949 in Enid to William Wesley, Jr and Estelle Bee (Wiedeman) Musser and died October 29, 2014 at his home in Enid.

In 1967, Jim graduated from Enid High School, where he was proud to be part of two state championship teams. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in finance and a minor in marketing from the University of Oklahoma in 1971. While there, Jim was active in Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, where he served as President and Rush Chairman. He continued his studies at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he was on the President's Honor Roll and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1975. Jim entered private practice in Enid with his father in 1975. One year later, he became Special District Judge for Garfield County and served until 1979. Then, Jim went back to private practice until 1999, participating in numerous civil and criminal jury trials as well as trials to the Court. He contracted with Garfield County, representing indigent criminal defendants from 1988 until 1992 when he contracted with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense system and Garfield County, representing juvenile deprived cases and adult mental health cases until 1998.

Jim entered the United States Army Reserve in 1972, serving on active duty at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, receiving his Commission as an Ordinance Officer. He continued serving in the 95th Infantry Division (USAR) until 1979.

Jim was a lifetime member of Central Christian Church; past president of Enid Noon Ambucs; member of Phi Delta Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, Gamma Gamma, Outstanding Young Men in America and Who's Who in American Law in the Southwest.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Elizebeth Traweek, her husband, Joe and their daughter, Amelia Bee of Arab, AL; his adopted daughter, Amber LaMarca, her husband, James and their two children, Emory and Charlie of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister, Mary Bee, her husband, Dr. Mel Clark, their daughter, Emily, her husband, Josh and their two children, Mason and Lucy of Oklahoma City.
