The funeral service for John A. Frisk, 81 year-old Garber resident, will be 2:00PM Monday, June 1, 2020 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery with military honors.
John was born November 5, 1938 in Enid to William A. and O. Marie (Hutchenson) Frisk. He took his last earthly breath on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in Enid. After graduating from Kremlin Schools in 1956, John attended Oklahoma A&M. However, a sudden decline in his father's health prompted him to return home to manage the family farm operations.
On July 9, 1965, he married the love of his life, Jean Meyer. The couple spent most of their 52-year marriage on their farm near Garber where they raised their four children. John worked for the Garber CO-OP as feed mill manager and retired after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, coin collector, and fossil hunter. John had a kind and gentle soul. He had an immense love for his children, grandchildren, and all animals.
John is survived by his children, Chuck Struble and wife, Vickie of Earlsboro; Bart Struble and wife, Shelli of Garber; Kim McNeil and husband, Travis of Perry; and Becky Lugafet and husband, Tony of Edmond; as well as nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his sister, Bonnie, John was preceded in death by his wife, Jean in 2018.
Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to OMRF (Lung Division).
