Kevin Wade Thompson, 28, of Enid, was born February 19, 1987 and passed away in his home on December 21, 2015. He attended Glenwood Elementary, Waller Junior High, Lincoln Academy and graduated from Enid High School. After high school, he attended Enid Beauty College. Kevin's primary career was as a cook at Raymie's Restaurant.

Friends and family are invited to honor Kevin at a visitation Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6-7:30pm at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. There will be a private family burial held at a later date.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Jennifer Dianne Thompson, Enid; father, Darrin Wade Thompson, Moore; brothers, Jordan Thompson, Edmond and Trevor Thompson, Moore; maternal grandparents, Barbara "Mammy" Hendrie; loyal and faithful grandpa, Raymond and step-grandma Patty Hendrie; paternal grandparents, Helena "Nina" and John Gappa; devoted aunt, Sherri Hendrie; aunt, Heather; uncles, Michael and Monte; special cousin, Hanna and other extended family.

Kevin was preceded in death by great-grandmothers, Ruby "Bamma" Boss and Lois "GG" Dalke.

Kevin was an avid reader, self-educated in the areas of food, music, literature, movies and television. He was a connoisseur of coffee. He also loved cooking and trying out new recipes on his Mom and his friends. Kevin had a respect and admiration for anyone who took courage in their artistic expressions. He enjoyed researching musical talents and drew strength and pleasure from all kinds of music. Kevin had a special mixture of a fun-loving and sarcastic wit. He was charismatic and profoundly insightful.

Kevin's friends were very important to him. To Kevin, it made no difference your race, size, cultural background, faith, religion or sexual preference. He accepted unconditionally. He challenged others to judge less and accept more. Thank you, Kevin, for teaching us to have the conviction to be who we are. What a beautiful legacy you have left for your brothers. It is for all these things that you will always be a hero to your Mother and all other family and friends.

Contributions in memory of Kevin may be made to Enid Public Library or the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home is serving as custodian of the funds.
