Obituary

The funeral for Mable L. Adler, 92 year-old former Enid resident will be 2;00PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gail Edmison will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mable was born October 20, 1921 in Ringwood, Oklahoma to Ed and Cora (Srader) Haley and died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Sumner regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas. She attended schools in Ringwood and graduated with the class of 1939. On June 23, 1944 she married Charles Adler in Oakland, California. Mable was a welder in the Navy shipyard helping with the war effort. She and her sister also were riveter's in Seattle during the war. When the war was over she and Charles moved to Enid. She was a supervisor at Norce(then Enid State School) for nearly 30 years. After her retirement she cared for the elderly either in the nursing home or in their homes. She was a life-long caregiver.

She is survived by her sons; Bill Adler and wife Debbie of Putnam City, OK. and Larry Adler and wife Jeannie of Mulvane, Kansas. 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Three sisters; Elsie Hicks, Effie Eck, and Shirley Hays, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Everett, a sister Dolly and an infant daughter, Sancy Lee.
