Obituary

The funeral for Margie M. Carris, 95-year-old Wakita resident, will be at 10:00am. Tuesday the 10th of December in the Wakita Christian Church. Rev. Jeff Enabnit will officiate.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Margie was born August 19, 1929, in Goltry to Jonas and Alvina (Johnson) Koehn and passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the Wakita Nursing Home. She attended schools in Goltry and Taloga, then graduated from Enid High School with class of 1947. On March 5, 1950, she married William " Bill " Carris, and the couple made their home on a farm near Wakita. Raising four boys and being a farmer's wife kept Margie very busy.

She was a long-time member of the Fairview Christian Church and the Wakita Christian Church. She was active in the Ladies Aid through the Church and the PTA at Gore. She enjoyed embroidery and collecting pictures.

She is survived by her sons; Jim Carris of Enid, Terry Carris and wife Cindy of Guthrie, Four grandchildren; Jason, Becky, Jordan, and Alana; 10 Great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, two sons: Max and David, two sisters; Ethel Marshall and Frances Koehn, one brother; Dennis Koehn, daughter-in-law; Karen Carris, and one grandson; Sean.
