Marita Faye (Davis) Wornom, born November 5, 1937, in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to William A. Davis and Cleona (Cardin) Davis. Marita went into the hands of her heavenly father on Wednesday May 4, 2023 at Saint Mary Regional Medical Centre in Enid, Oklahoma.
She grew up in Sweetwater, Oklahoma until her parents moved the family to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1949. She attended Merritt High School. Marita's Christian faith was very important to her, and she moved to Waxahachie, Texas to attend the Southwestern Assemblies of God University. After her studies, Marita moved back to Elk City where she worked at the Monahan's Restaurant and Paul Jones Drugstore before pursuing a career as a hairdresser. Later, she moved to Ada for a short time to open her own beauty salon before relocating to Oklahoma City where she worked as a receptionist in medical offices. Marita married Wayne Huntley Wornom on August 7, 1970. They combined their two families and resided in Warr Acres, where they were active in the Putnam City United Methodist Church. Marita loved to cook for all of her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Every year Marita and Wayne would host family reunions at Lake Texoma over the Memorial Day weekend. In the late 1980's, Marita started her business Marita's Antiques. This passion allowed her to travel across the United States to antique shows in Texas, Colorado, Illinois, California, Florida, Maryland, and many more states. Marita liked to stay up to date with the latest fashion trends, she often stood out in a crowded room with her unique eyeglasses and hats. She also enjoyed taking cruises, traveling to other countries, and spending time with her closest friends.
Marita is survived by her son Joel Jones and his wife Janice. Stepsons, Trent Jenkins and his partner George Anderson, and Mike Wornom and his wife Virginia. Eight grandchildren, Terry Price and his wife Tracey, Gary Price, Jerry Price and his wife Amanda, Kimberly Goldsmith and her husband Darin, Jennifer Wornom, Justin Jones, Keith Jones and his wife Starr, Jessica Leeper and her husband Matthew Leeper, Jr. Fourteen great-grandchildren, Kristy Roberts, Lauren Jones, Reed Clark, Austin McDaniel, Harley Jones, Austin Jones, Keelan Price, Kiara Price, Rayne Mcniel, Raven, Mcniel, Sammy Mcniel, Hazday Jones, Luke Goldsmith, and Ryzer Jones. Four great-great children. Her sister Shirley Bradley and her husband Leo. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Wayne H. Wornom. Step-daughter, LaRhonda Marlow. Parents, William and Cleona Davis. Brother, Windell Davis and sister-in-law Mary Stacey, and a great-granddaughter Samantha Price.
