Marsha Lynn Norris' Obituary
Funeral service for Marsha Lynn Norris, age 68, of Ames, OK, will be 10:00 am Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Ames First Baptist Church with Pastors Jim Nance , Jim Thorpe and Bryan Laramore officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Cemetery under the direction of Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home. A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 2pm – 4pm at the funeral Home.
Marsha passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in OKC. She was born to Raymon and Johnnie (Collier) Gooden on August 14, 1946 west of the town of Ames, OK in the family farm house.
Marsha spent her life around the community of Ames, OK and graduated from Ames High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ames, OK where she enjoyed playing the piano and organ every Sunday for over 50 years. She delighted in helping others and always attended to others needs before her own. Marsha started her career with Champlin Oil Company in Enid, OK where she worked for 7 years. She then worked for the Ames CO-OP Farmers Elevator Company and retired after 42 years of dedicated service. Marsha was honored with "Bookkeeper of the Year Award" and received an all-expense paid vacation to California. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On April 23, 1965 Marsha Lynn Gooden married Larry Lee Norris of Ames where they resided most of their married lives. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this April 23, 2015.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Raymon and Johnnie Gooden.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Larry Norris of Ames; son, Scott Norris and wife Verlinda of Collinsville, OK; and daughter, Amber Cantrell of Ames, OK. She is also survived by her two sisters, Karen Suit and husband, Jack of Longdale, OK; Janis Stubbs and husband, Larry of Houston, Texas; She adored and loved her grandchildren, Kylor McDaniel, Breanna McDaniel, Haley Cantrell and Natalie Norris, plus great grandchild, Allyson (Ally) McDaniel. Marsha is also survived by many more relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given through the funeral home to Ames Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders
