There will be a private family funeral service for Mary Burdick, 88 year-old Enid resident, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Mary was born October 5, 1933 in Enid to Walter and Vera (Keller) Caldwell and died Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Bass Hospital.

She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1951. On December 24, 1950, she married Evert Burdick in Enid. Evert's job kept the family moving to many towns and states in the early years of their marriage. They returned and settled in Enid in 1964. Mary worked at the Enid State School and later worked at various doctor's offices as an assistant.

She volunteered at Integris Bass Baptist until last year. She was a member of the "Golden Girls" that consisted of girls she graduated with. Mary enjoyed playing all kinds of games and was an accomplished needle-worker and crocheter.

Mary is survived by her four children, Michael Burdick (Donna) of Broken Arrow; Johanna Schmidt (Daryl) of Fair Oaks, PA; Kathy Shellady (Peter) of Enid, and Greg Burdick (Karen) of Owasso, OK; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and great-granddaughter, McKenna Schmidt as well as two sisters, Jo Ann Ewton and Sally Bauer.

Memorials may be given through the funeral home to OMRF (Heart Division) or The Commons Nursing Home in Enid.
