The funeral service for Maurice Lovan Allen, 55 year old Enid resident, will be Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at the West Side Church of God in Christ. Reverend Billy Mucker and Reverend Derwin L. Norwood Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid cemetery under the direction of Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home. A visitation for friends and family will be from 6-7:30pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Following the burial there will be a lunch served in the Southern Heights Community Center at 451 E. State St. Enid.

Maurice was born in Enid, Oklahoma November 15th, 1958 to Mrs. Marie and Randolph Rich. Maurice went home to be in the hands of our Lord and Savior on September 13th, 2014. Maurice was survived in death by his father Randy Rich, a wonderful sister, Loretta Miller "Freeman", two sons, Maurice Marquez' Allen and Jamelle Micheal Nolen Allen, two daughter-in-laws, Cassondra Allen and Trish Allen, eight grandchildren, Marquez Allen, Zyire Allen, Iean Allen, Mia Allen, Ai`slynn Allen, Aaron Austin, Morgan Sorrentino and Nevaehla Walker, an olive branch of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunties, uncles, and a legion of friends.

Maurice, in his early years was given the signature name "Grease Lightning" for his unprecedented ability to run and mesmerize those who looked upon while playing the sports of football and basketball. Within these two arenas is where Maurice would explore his most creative thoughts and expressions, he would relieve himself from the cares of this world, playing and dreaming the possibilities of living life as a professional athlete. He was an OU fan and hardly missed a game. When walking, Maurice left behind an impressively large foot print. Maurice treated friends like family and treated family better than he did himself. Maurice saw no color and embraced many friends with the message of Christ in his heart. You could often find him talking to you in a very charismatic way about the Lord.

Maurice had been recognized annually for no less than 15 years of service by the powers that be at the Advanced Pierre Foods Corporation. His achievements were for being an outstanding machine operator and first class when it came to performing his job requirements. Maurice was looked at as a mentor in his work environment. It was said that the single most significant figure at Advance Foods would often times stop at Maurice's work station to say hello and thank him for a job well done. Maurice loved to work and work and work.

Maurice loved and cherished his two boys and mostly his grandchildren. Maurice was never afraid to smile, laugh, or have a good time. Stress was never his forte' and would, at all cost, avoid it if possible. Maurice was very proud yet humble of being a young energetic man in his fifties. His favorite quote was "People wish they could look like me when they get this age".

Maurice L. Allen, aka "Moe Allen" will be sorely missed by many. He was a faithful friend and brother to all that had a chance to know him. His memories will live on in the genetic expressions of his offspring. Just look for the smile and he will be there! Maurice Allen is a name to be remembered. Peace and Love Be Multiplied To All!
