The funeral for Rebecca "Becky" Sue Burpo, 64-year-old Garber resident is 2:00PM Saturday, November 30, 2024, in the Garber Methodist Church. Rev. Barry Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation with family on Friday evening from 5PM-7PM in the Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Rebecca "Becky" Sue Burpo was born June 3rd, 1960, in Woodward, OK to Herman and Patsy Stephens and passed away peacefully in her home November 24th, 2024, in the presence of her family. As a child, you could find her playing with her siblings, out in the pasture riding horses, and playing with animals such as goats and rabbits. She moved a lot as a child, but her love of animals and people followed her everywhere she went. She lived on ranches with her family and was even hired to green-break horses. In 1977, she met her soulmate, Greg, in Covington, Oklahoma. They could always be found together, her even going out to drilling locations when he worked in the oil boom as a derrick hand. They enjoyed traveling and frequently going to concerts together. They wed in 1986 and ended up settling and building a life in Garber, Oklahoma. After marrying, she was blessed with twin boys, Chadrick "Tyson" and Jeffery "Todd". Tyson and Todd asked her a few times to have a brother or sister. She would always reply "No, I had two the first time and the next time I'll have a litter". She always told everyone that she had "good boys" and was very proud of them. She worked very hard her whole life at raising her kids, taking care of her family, and also working in the Garber School cafeteria. She loved the kids at the school, some of them even calling her "mom". She always took extra special care of the kids that she seen as troubled, saying that those were "God's special children". She truly overflowed with love and affection, especially for kids. She never knew a stranger. She had a deep love for her granddaughters Krysten, Kenzie and Karsyn Sue. In her spare time, she enjoyed taking care of her many flowers, gardening, spending time with family, listening to music, and watching her favorite TV shows. She was the brightest light in the room, with a laugh and smile that was absolutely contagious. She was always cutting up, telling stories, and passing along wisdom to those that would listen. She taught those closest to her many lessons, but none more important than those about life. Above all others, she taught people how to love, what truly caring about someone meant and the sacrifices and efforts that care included, how to treat people, and to always keep faith in God. She was so proud to recently be baptized. She would always say things like "always be humble and kind" and "cowboy up". She had a positive impact on everyone that she ever came in contact with and truly made life sweeter for everyone she was closest to. Becky is survived by her husband, Greg Burpo of the home; Son Tyson Burpo and Wife Krystle of Garber; Son Todd Burpo and wife Solana of Garber; granddaughters Krysten, Kenzie and Karsyn Sue; Brother Rusty Stephens of Alva; sister Robbie Defenbaugh of Alva; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is proceeded in death by her father, Herman Stephens; mother, Patsy Stephens; brother, Rick Stephens; sister, Regina Murrow; and sister, Rochelle Rummel.
