Obituary

Robert Lee "Bob" Voelker, husband, father and grandfather of five, passed away June 3, 2015 after an extended illness. Bob was born December 2, 1937 in Enid to Fred and Irene (Holloway) Voelker. He graduated from high school in Pierce City, Missouri in 1955 and joined the Air Force that same year. He was stationed in several states with a two year tour in Germany.

On April 9, 1956, Bob married Shirley Hinds and they celebrated their 59th anniversary this year. He worked for Pepsi Cola as plant manager. Then, he worked for Continental Baking Company in Enid and Joplin, Missouri for 29 years, retiring in 1996 as plant manager. In 1997, he went to work for Jumbo Foods. It was a job he truly loved. Ill health forced him to quit in March 2014.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife and faithful caregiver, Shirley of the home; daughter, Kim Brittain and husband, Larry of Enid; son, Michael Voelker and wife, Ann of Fairview, OK; five grandchildren, Lauren Grayson of Norman, OK; Cheyenne Voelker of Enid; Stefan Maxx Grayson of Enid; J.T. and Kerstyn Voelker of Divine, TX; sister, Donna Evans and husband, Dennis of Arlington, TX; four brothers, Johnny Voelker of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Kevin Voelker and wife, Debbie of Collinsville, OK; Albert Voelker and wife, Carol of Olathe, KS; Roger Melvin of Grove, OK as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service for Bob will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 6, 2015 in the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Doffer officiating. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be given through the funeral home to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
