The celebration of life for Terry Metz, a 78-year-old Waukomis resident, will be held on Friday August 7,2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Henninger-Hinson funeral home chapel. Officiating Gail Edmison with a private burial to follow the service.

Terry Ray Metz was born on February 20,1948, to Charles and Julia (Leeper) Metz and left this world on August 2,2026, at the age of 78 surrounded by his wife and the family he loved so much. He was the youngest of three children. Terry attended Drummond public schools through 11th grade and graduated from Enid High School in 1966.

He married Peggy Dunn in 1966 and to this union there were two children. He later married Susan Hart on June 28,1988.

After High School he got his first job at George E. Failing Company and worked there his entire career, which he took great pride in. He retired from GEFCO in 2009. He loved working (tinkering) around the family farm the most. He also enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, going to the lake, boating, and camping with his wife Susan in Colorado. He loved spending time with family and the many friends that he had.

Terry is survived by his wife Susan of the home, daughter Kelly (Mike) Shaw, grandsons Christopher (Ciarra) Hayes, Dominick Metz ,and two great-granddaughters Saige and Harper.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Julia Metz, sister Mary Margaret Philbrick, brother Tom Metz, and son Robby C. Metz.
