The funeral service for Verda Jean Schrahl will be 2:00pm Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jody Schmidt officiating. A private family burial will precede the service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Verda Jean Phillips was born in Enid, OK on April 12, 1923. She was the sixth of seven children born to Vernie Mae (Davis) and Robert C. Phillips. She passed away July 15, 2017 at The Commons in Enid.

Verda married Richard Schrahl on May 13, 1940. They made their home in Ringwood, OK and established Richard's Food Store in 1952.

She was a homemaker and an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Ringwood.

She is survived by son, Rodney Schrahl and wife, Charlotte of Ringwood; daughter, Sandy Schrahl Branum and husband, Dr. Gary Branum of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Philip Schrahl (Amber); Kristine Almack (Nick); Jesse and Jackson Slayton. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to Major County EMS, Hospice Circle of Love or Christ First Covenant Bible Fellowship.
