The funeral for Virginia F. Scott, 84 year-old Waukomis resident will be 2:00PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dave Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in Waukomis Cemetery.

Virginia was born December 1, 1929 in Appleton, Arkansas to Floyd and Sarah (McCoy) Defoe and died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in her home in Waukomis. She attended schools in Appleton. On February 15, 1946 she married Carl Scott in Canalou, Missouri where the couple made their home. Carl worked for Phillips Petroleum and that kept the couple moving around Oklahoma and Missouri before settling in Enid in 1962.

Virginia worked at several restaurants in Waukomis over the years. She was a member of the Waukomis Baptist Church and later attended Gospel Light Baptist Church in Enid.

In her spare time she loved taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Brenda Scott, Rick Scott and wife Janice, Barbara Wheeler and husband Robert, Dale Scott, and Randall Scott and wife Michelle. 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carol, one daughter Pat, one son, Wayne, one sister Ova Philpot, and one brother Carl Wayne.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the charity of the donor's choosing.
