Zilpha "Zee" Mae Congdon left her earthly body on Sunday, August 4, 2019 and her soul and spirit went to her Heavenly home to dwell with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forever.
Zee was born December 30, 1928 to Harry L. and Lucy Ellen (Shire) Adams in Enid, Oklahoma. Zee had one sibling, brother, David Adams, born May 6, 1937.
Zee spent her childhood growing up in Enid. She graduated from Enid High School and soon after, married Harold Congdon. Zee had five children: Linda, Harry, Mike, Janice, and Mary.
Zee was passionate about many things throughout her life. Many people will remember Zee from her time as a volunteer at Bass Hospital in Enid. She had a heart for helping people. She was elected and served as Auxiliary President of Bass Hospital Volunteers in 1972 and 1973.
She loved to cook and had a pile of recipes. She always made special items at each holiday. She spent years as an active member of Central Christian Church in Enid. She was an active member of Delta Theta Chi sorority. She loved music and reading and passed that love onto her family.
Of all the things Zee loved, she loved her family the most. Zee's children and their families were her life. She cherished every minute and every memory she had with them. Zee was a wonderful and amazing woman. She will be missed.
Zee is survived by brother, David Adams of Idaho; son, Mike Congdon of Crescent; daughter, Mary McCoy of Enid; grandchildren, Jason, Jamie, Jeff, Jennifer, Jeremy, Curtis and Lucas; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, with one on the way.
Viewing will be held 8:00am-8:00pm Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The funeral will be held 10:00am Thursday, August 8, 2019 in the funeral home Chapel with Pastors Jeff Congdon and Jeremy Congdon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be given through the funeral home to The Commons: Pre-K program.
